Amanda Joly is an artist based in West Dorset. Born in 1966.
Amanda studied at the University Centre Yeovil (UCY) completing a Foundation Degree in Contemporary Fine Art with Bournemouth University in 2010 and completing her BA(Hons) in Fine Art with Plymouth University in 2011.
Her interest in the Arts was present as a child and has always been an important part of her life. Continuing her passion in both a practical and research capacity, such as Art History. She continues to be self-motivated in researching topics such as human nature, loss, identity and home.
Her work can be emotive and spontaneous or measured and thoughtful but the ultimate intention is to find that common thread between image and viewer. Some images are uneasy, some are meditative, many are metaphorical; all are experiential.
Works in various mediums but primarily oil.
